DENVER — Denver Zombie Crawl 2014 overran LoDo once again Saturday, filling Denver’s streets with thousands of fiends ranging from hilarious to sexy to outright upsetting.

The annual undead parade, a constant contender for the title of largest zombie crawl in the world, drew thousands of blood-splattered shamblers and even more onlookers/zombie bait. The 16th Street mall was an alarming scene of simulated carnage, leaving the few unsuspecting passers-by with little to do but stare in shock or run the other way.

Though zombies feast on brains, walkers were asked to donate a can of food each to the Food Bank of the Rockies. In return, they got free help with their costumes and makeup effects, as well as a chance to dance in a massive recreation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. Later in the evening, creepy afterparties abounded.

All in all, it was the best Saturday a ghoul could ask for.
