THORNTON, Colo. — Police officially ruled out manufacturing of drugs, like meth or hash oil, as the cause for an explosion at a Thornton home on June 19 that killed a man.
At a community meeting Wednesday night, the Thornton Police Department said the home’s gas line was intentionally tampered with and the house was likely filling up with gas for an hour to an hour and a half before the explosion.

A dog somehow managed to survive.
The house was obliterated during the blast, sending debris as far as a block away and showering pink insulation onto rooftops.
