DENVER — Nine years in, Keggs and Eggs is really hitting its stride.

The annual St. Patrick’s breakfast and Irish carbomb extravaganza, organized by KTCL 93.3 FM and held at Lodo’s Bar and Grill, was held March 14.

Such an event could be a beer-fueled nightmare: Take a capacity crowd of people (most of whom have already started the weekend in earnest by 7 a.m.), pack them into a bar with lots of steep staircases and little breathing room, and see what happens. Oh, and throw some live radio into the mix.

Instead, Keggs has become an example of how to do good-natured debauchery right. The ambiance was crowded but communal; security keeps order without being pushy, and the bands (Danish party animals New Politics, along with The Unlikely Candidates and KONGOS) killed it.

Here’s to the 10th anniversary — and a long, green weekend in Denver.
