DENVER — In “Back to the Future II,” Marty, played by Michael J. Fox, travels from 1987 to October 21, 2015.

For Delorean owner Matt Crabtree, it’s the day of days. But it wasn’t the movie that drew Crabtree to the limited run sports car built in 1981, “It doesn’t look like any other car. And even though it’s thirty plus years old, it still looks modern,” he said.

It was modern and immortalized in the popular 1985 movie “Back to the Future.” “Everywhere you go with this car it’s a car show because everybody wants to talk with you about it,” said Crabtree.

He is one of 20 members of the Denver-based Rocky Mountain DeLoreans car club. “The club was formed as an opportunity for us all to get together and work on our cars and have commonality and hang out.”

The DeLorean sold brand new for $27,000 back in 1981. It now sells easily for over $40,000.

But it wouldn’t matter how much it sells for, most DeLorean owners will be keeping their movie and automobile icon all rolled into one for well into the future.
